2019 Season 2019 Season

posted by Dan Booth, Thursday February 28, 2019

Pangbourne Cricket Club play friendly matches on a Sunday afternoon from early May to early September against local teams like Englefield, Aston Tirrold, Woolhampton and Whitchurch and are based up at Pangbourne College.

With the 2019 Season starting soon, here are some dates for the diary...

Indoor practice nets have been booked at Bradfield College Sports Centre on the following Tuesdays, commencing at 8.15pm - March 19th  March 26th April 2nd & April 9th. hopefully (weather permitting!) we should be able to start outdoor nets up at Pangbourne College at 6.30pm Tuesday 16th April (and then every Tuesday evening at 6.30pm throughout the spring/summer)

A ‘turn up and play’ practice match has been pencilled in for Sunday 28th April 1.30pm up at Pangbourne College (further details to be announced on this website) newcomers will be very welcome!

As usual at this time of year we put the feelers out into the local community to raise our profile and to try and recruit a few new players.

You don’t have to be a league standard player, just be reasonably fit/willing to run about on a hot day, eat cake, drink tea and go to the pub after the game. Some knowledge of cricket would be nice but (certainly in my case) not necessarily that essential!.. There’s no age limit either, our youngest player last year was 13 and our oldest 62..

If you are interested in getting involved, as a player, as an umpire or even just as a spectator and want to find out more, call club captain Dan Booth on 07956 526505.
